  2. ReadMe Info for Program Hotlist2HTML (version 0.7.2)

The program Hotlist2HTML (version 0.7.2) converts a NCSA-MacMosaic Hotlist or a EINet-MacWeb Hotlist (resource)  file to a HTML-page, wherein each URL of the Hotlist is associated with its corresponding menuitem name. The HTML output will be normally sorted lexically by the menuitem text, but re-sorting of the Hotlist may be suppressed, if desired. 
  6. The HTML output can be imported by Netscape Mosaic into a Bookmark file. Hotlist2HTML should run on any Macintosh where System 7 is installed.

There is no advanced Macintosh user interface implemented within this version. To use the program, you must launch it directly. No drop at feature is implemented! After clicking on the initial dialog window, use the file-dialog to select the Hotlist to be converted, and after doing  this, select an output file. When conversion is finished, Hotlist2HTML terminates.  If you hold down the shift key while clicking on the initial dialog, then your HTML output will not be re-sorted.

  10. This program may be freely distributed, and you may modify its source code
  11. as you like, to fit your purposes. If you distribute *modified* versions, you must
  12. put a note about this fact into the modified source and the initial window display of the binary program.

The Fortran source can be compiled with the Language Systems Fortran 3.0 compiler (or a later Version) which runs under MPW 3.2 (later Versions require MPW 3.2.3).  Language Systems Corp. requires you to leave intact its copyright note (cited below),in any binary Version which has been generated by using its Fortran software, and which you distribute to other people.
